The Utility Report:

The utility report will provide monthly cost, usage, and cost per usage information for all electricity and natural gas bill tracked through the UBAR system.  The report also presents cost and usage information for water and “water and sewer” bills.  All usage information is reported in one standard unit of measure by commodity.  The information is presented for various time ranges depending on the filter selected.  The report utilizes the statement date from the bill to place it in the appropriate month.  If the statement date is on or before the fifteenth of the month the cost and usage is placed in the previous month.  If the statement date is the sixteenth or greater, the cost and usage is placed in the current month.

  • To access the utility report, click on the “utility” tab and then a facility from the hierarchy.

  • You will then want to select a particular time range, either year-to-date, previous year, year before last or a comparison of all three years together.

  •  You can also click “Report in 000’s if you want the report to present actual dollar amounts.  Unless the cost and usage at the facility level, on a monthly basis, is significantly higher than $1,000,000 or you are at a regional/divisional level, it is recommended to uncheck this box.

  • After you have made your filter selections you will then click “submit”.  This will generate the report in a tabular format presenting the total dollars on a monthly basis for the selected year, in addition to the break out of the cost and usage by commodity type.
  • If you select “All” from the dropdown menu, the system will present all three years of information grouped together so you can make easy, quick comparisons of your costs and usage variations from year to year.

The facility report presents all the pertinent facility information (name, address, personnel information, and vendor information).  This is where the system demostrates how it can be used as an organizational tool and become a communications medium throughout your company.  If the manager of a facility needs to commnicate with his engineer or with the manager of another facility, he can click on the faciity report and the appropriate e-mail address to send a correspondence without exiting the UBAR system.

Your UBAR administrator has the ability to assign, by state, a weather station that will give you access to Heating Degree Day (HDD) and Cooling Degree Day (CDD) information.  If your administrator has assigned a station or given you the ability to assign a station update you will be able see a hyperlink on the facility report to show you this information.
